The three main River Valley- INDUS, ZANSKAR & NUBRA (SHYOK) which are so green in the time of summer yet so white and sterile in winter. The two beautiful Lake Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri also cut through this landscape of white or yellow, flashes of blue and green on otherwise colorless canvas.

Food

One of the best parts of traveling to Ladakh is trying out the local food and bringing back recipes to remind you of your trip. The Ladakhi cuisine is very different from Indian cuisine, it is not spicy and it mainly originates from the culinary traditions of Tibet. Barley flour, called tsampa, is the traditional staple food of Ladakh. For e.g Thukpa, Momos, Skyu, Tingmo, Chutagi, Chhurpi, Chang etc.
